What better thing to receive on Friday the 13th than a black cat?



Many thanks to saribou for her generous offer of this beautiful smoke Mau kitty which needed a good home. She seems to have survived the ordeal of air cargo quite well, and is busy being a busy body around her new home.

So in talking with Ponygirl about the La Brea statue she sculpted, I mentioned that it would be super cute if she could also manage to get the mastedon toy included with the figure.

Lo and behold, she did! I love the little bow in the tail, to match the hair bow and bone in La Brea's hair. Excellent job!

Pre-orders for the La Brea figure, which now includes the mastedon toy, have been extended to December 1st. The figure will be produced in full color, in a limited run of 100 pieces.

Today was supposed to be the last day of my ASPCA fundraising drive. I have decided to extend the drive one more week in order to try and achieve my new goal of $1,000.00 in donations.

Given the current economic situation, and the closeness of the holiday season, my original goal of $2,500.00 was probably too ambitious. It never hurts to try! 8) I think the new goal is more realistic, and hopefully it can be reached with the generosity of just a few more people! Also, please consider that the tough economy is also affecting organizations like the ASPCA, which means they have fewer resources. Couple this with the increase in people abandoning animals they can no longer afford to keep, and you can see how this will be hardest on the very animals the ASPCA is trying to help. Your donations can help those animals in trouble find new homes instead of being abandoned on the streets, or put down in underfunded, overcrowded shelters.

Halloween is my favorite holiday, and I had a lot of fun decorating our house this year. It seemed to pay off as well, we had many more visitors over last year's rather quiet turnout.

I modeled the puppy after my own two dachshunds, both of whom wish to put their tongues into your mouth whenever possible. Whether you want it or not. Because they think you ALWAYS want it.

Also remember that all donations of $50.00 or more are put into the hat for a chance at a single character custom commission, which is a $250.00 value whenever my books are open. The last time that happened, outside of a charity or auction, was over three years ago.

The ASPCA charity drive will run until Sunday, November 8, 2009. Please help me reach my goal and help the ASPCA with their mission of rescuing and sheltering animals in need of help.
